How an ISO 42001 AI management system is built
ISO/IEC 42001 is the international standard for AI management systems. You set up the management system once for the organisation. Then you repeat the impact assessment, risk treatment and controls for every AI system in scope. Understanding that split is the key to implementing it and auditing it.

ISO 42001 Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor syllabus: 4-day agenda
The first three days build an AIMS from scope to certification readiness. Day 4 turns to auditing it. Every day has a hands-on workshop on a realistic case.

Pass the exam at the end of day 4 and you receive both certificates, approved by Exemplar Global. They show you can implement an AIMS and audit one. If you don’t pass first time, your retake is free. Employers can check your certificates on our certificate verification page.

What is the ISO 42001 course fee in India?

How long is the ISO 42001 training?
Four days, 32 hours of live, instructor-led training. Weekend batches spread the same hours over two weekends.
Do I need the Lead Implementer or the Lead Auditor course?
You don’t have to choose. This course covers both: days 1 to 3 on implementing an AIMS and day 4 on auditing one. Pass the exam and you receive both certificates.
What certificate will I receive?
Pass the end-of-course exam and you receive ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor certificates, approved by Exemplar Global and verifiable on our website.
What happens if I don’t pass the exam?
You get one free retake.

Is ISO 42001 certification mandatory in India?
No. It is voluntary. Indian companies pursue it mainly because customers in the EU, the US and regulated sectors ask for proof of responsible AI governance. Personal certification shows you can implement or audit an AIMS. It does not certify your employer.
How much does ISO 42001 certification cost for a company?

Does the course cover the EU AI Act?
Yes. The course maps ISO 42001 to the EU AI Act, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, MeitY guidance and India’s DPDP Act.
Do I need ISO 27001 before ISO 42001?
No. ISO 42001 stands on its own. Knowing ISO 27001 helps, because both standards share the same management system structure.
Are there any prerequisites?
No formal prerequisite. Some familiarity with AI, risk or a management system standard helps.
Is the course online? Do I get recordings?
Yes. Public batches are live online with the trainer, and you receive session recordings for revision. Live attendance is recommended. In-house batches can be online or at your office.
